About
Overland Journey publishes complete adventures with clear sources, access notes, and confidence labels. We would rather ship fewer routes than guess.
Each route starts from official geographic and recreation sources such as BLM travel guidance, Motor Vehicle Use Maps where they apply, and county or tourism pages that match the land manager. We keep the source URL, attribution, and the date we reviewed the material.
Before a trip goes live we check public motorized access, obvious private-property issues, and whether claims like distance or difficulty are actually supported. If a number is not in an official source, we leave it out or say to check before travel.
We host only original writing, appropriately licensed public data, or files with documented permission. Photos carry credits on the page and in our records. We do not treat a public GPS track as free to republish.
Launch focus is Colorado, Utah, and Arizona. Vehicle defaults are stock 4WD and full-size trucks. Trailer limits and high-clearance-only routes will be labeled when we have them.
We are not accepting public route uploads yet. If you spot an error, use the contact form. For community discussion, join the Overland Journey Facebook group.
Some gear links are Amazon affiliate links (tag lba0fb-20). If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That never changes a safety or verification label.
Complete overland adventures for the vehicle you actually own. Routes are researched from official sources and reviewed before we publish them.
